Summer Haiku
By Don Iannone

1
soft rain beats gently
green leaves laugh in the shower
surprise love downpour

2
green, pink, orange, and blue
sunlight graces the garden
bow to afternoon rainbow

3
hummingbird hovers
wings vibrate heart melodies
reality hums

You have been busy. Do you write everyday?

You are always ahead of everyone.
I try to post a thing everyday, if the circumstances do not prevent me. But I don't want to be too quick with publishing.
I think you have a lot of time. Haikus too can take a while to develop.

Frida...yes I write everyday. It's part of my daily spiritual practice. Keeps me balanced and centered.

Imemine...when I write on a daily basis it's a practice of releasing exact what is inside me. Obviously too much.

Time? I make time for what is important in my life. Never is a work day shorter than 10-11 hours for me and some are longer. I run a business here in Cleveland. My advantage is I can work poetry in as I like. There is no corporate censor, which is a reality for some people.

I envy you. ;>)

Imemine...nothing to envy. Each of us creates our own reality through the intentions we holdd deepest inside us. Have you read Amit Goswami's book, The Visionary Window? It's a gem. The next to the last chapter describes the 5 stages of enlightenment. You might find it interesting. I know I did.

Heart is not the only source of feelings Don. And this is technically wrong. Heart only pumps blood, but we like to believe heart generates all the emotions, positive or negative. Your heart seems to be everywhere Don.

These are beautiful! I could see them in my mind. :)

Thanks Rauf. Yes, there is the heart as biological organ view and that is limited.

Heart for me is a metaphsycial concept embodying exactly what you point to with your words.

Personally, I subscribe to a very Eastern cosmological view. One that is closer to Hindu and Buddhism philosophies than mainstream Western cosmology, which is drowning in materialist science. And no, I am not anti-science. Rather, I believe in the primacy of consciousness (including spirit and mind)over matter.

Thanks James and welcome. Your poetry is a true inspiration to me. I like you form and feel of your poetry.

Once again I can see the objects as you portray them, feel their texture through your words, imagine their essence, and I appreciate how the words themselves feel on my tongue. “Green leaves laugh in the shower”—what a vibrant image! Watching a hummingbird’s wings vibrate does create a melody in my heart, making me even more aware of the realities around me.

Conscious Living Diary—how more conscious could a person become, of even the most minute object, considering the awareness your poems arouse in our minds?

This was especially pretty.
I loved the colours and enjoyed the refreshing pause from Life.
Danke.

So many wonderful comments. Better comments than the poems that prompted them.

Thanks Kathleen, James, Darlene, and Homo escapeons.

Blessings.
