Summer Haiku
Don Iannone

1
white-capped mountain peak
high above where all dreams sleep
sun smiles at the top

2
lonesome dove appears
morning awakens the world
lantern flame burns down

3
cross-legged old man sits
letting go of all troubles
then his own light shines

Don, I really like this one!!
I could see it all in my imagination and I thought of a hidden Indian village or some small Japanese village? Was it just something that came to you or did you describe a place you know?

(1) reminds me of my childhood days of dreams and eagerness for everything and admiration for god.

(2) of first love, then loosing it.

(3) of a sage...in meditation.

I especially love the last one!
"cross-legged old man sits
letting go of all troubles
then his own light shines"
If only all people were so lucky!!
Thanks

homo escapeons...thanks for your comments.

Yes, indeed I can cross my legs and meditate for a good long time. Been doing this for a while. It all comes with practice.
