Lightning Strikes in Early Morning Fog
By Don Iannone

Early morning
...before the sun and light.
Even before my conscious mind
catches up with its unconscious partner.
Dull wispy thoughts linger
...maybe from a dream, or
...just some syrypy residue
...from the day before.
It's quiet.
More so than usual.
I don't mind the emptiness.
It fills me in an odd sort of way.
Two days ago
...lightning struck very near us.
We felt small...and helpless.
It struck again this morning
...this time inside me.
I felt cleansed and free.

I am glad I stuck around a bit longer after commenting on the poll, I love this poem, it is exceptional..'It's quiet.' yes, Yes, that is very filling, and enlightening.

Thanks for a jewel early in the day.

Natural violence. It's not personal.
