When Darkness Falls
By Don Iannone

Closed eyes shut off from the world
...filled with tearful visions forever washed away.
Finally darkness falls
...heavy and cold as an Alberta Clipper
...muffling last desperate cries and whispers
...frozen still on trembling thin blue lips.
The darkness drinks in the last of my shadow
...leaving only what I myself must take away.

Thanks Pat. A little dark but a thread of light appeared in the distance.
