The Light That Holds Us
By Don Iannone
Be not afraid--
for your love
is strong enough
to lift you far above
any dark night of your soul.
Lose not hope--
for there is a power
greater even than the sun
whose light is so strong
we must close our eyes to see.
Remember always the truth
that gave birth to you
and will always be with you
no matter how dark the night
or how cold the wind may blow.

Words to anchor to!! Good poem!!
Thanks Pat. In a storm or any difficult moment in life.
This is really good. I need to remember the message contained here.
The last lines remind me of Krishna's words when he says to Arjuna: "Even in your darkest hour I will never abandon you."
Yes indeed, Rob. And I lifted "dark night of the soul" from St. John of the Cross. It seemed so fitting. Rob, there is a special blessing in this poem the one from yesterday. It's real. More than words. Enjoy your weekend. I'm sure it will be an adventure for you.
Hi Don, I was particularly struck by the lines "for there is a power / greater even than the sun / whose light is so strong / we must close our eyes to see." I love the way you wrote that. This poem transcends religions too. Well done!
Thanks Mike. It is a transcendental poem in those respects.
To leave the past behind every moment in order to live in the moment.
Imemine...those illusory devils keep reappearing.
Thank you.
Peace and blessings to you and your beloved ones.
Thanks Amias!
