Illusory Adventures
By Don Iannone

Seeking won't save you,
nor will grasping what clutches at your heart.
Much as the sun, moon and stars
appear to hover out there somewhere,
so too is your experience of your true nature.
These things...all things...rest in you.
If you must waste your time searching,
mount an inward path from where all arises,
but don't be surprised, or disappointed,
if you find nothing.
There is nothing to find,
since all rests within you already.
Remind yourself that you are...
one and the same with whatever you seek.
Moreover, your true nature and my true nature
are no different; rather completely the same.
We are not cut from the same cloth,
we are the same cloth--
one whole piece, complete,
and yes surprisingly perfect.

Half of the American people have never read a newspaper. Half never voted for President. One hopes it is the same half.

When we see a tapestry from the right side all beautifully sewn ... gold threads and all ... the tapestry of life ... if we were to look on the reverse side ... we see the knots and loose threads ... YES! we are all part of that Tapestry of Life. In our confusions we make complications ... eventually we tie up all the loose ends. All the same cloth as you said.

A perfect description - title, image and words, of what's going on in such as me..!:) A hypnotic vortex of the self?

Maybe...but when I am in the supermarket I tend to forget this truth.

This is wonderful. You cover the whole cloth with one good poem. The indeterminacy of it all comes to rest in each of us as we simply become, rather than strive to become.

Have you read illusions by Richard Bach?

Thanks jel, Pat, Dan, Rob, Kathleen, Polona, and Garnet David.

Garnet David...yes, I read Illusions some time again. A very fine one!

Don, a beautiful message in this poem, and the image you chose to accompany it.
