Full Moon Buffalo Clouds
By Don Iannone
Odd buffalo-shaped clouds gallop
across the cold November sky.
I would have missed them completely
were it not for the perfect-circle full moon
glowing hauntingly bright at their backs.
Stripped of their leaves,
the naked skeleton-like trees reach into the sky,
as though searching for answers why
these near extinct clouds roam restlessly--
like my heart, which longs for peace
from its incessant wanderings.
Why does the light torment the darkness so,
and why does my heart suddenly long to be filled
by the moon and her secrets?

Don I feel the same way too. The moon is mysterious and holds many secrets and thats why we are mesmerized by it.
Indeed Starry Nights...indeed! Thank you.
I'm in negotiations with NASA to set up the first nudist colony there, but that's just why I feel like chasing the moon. Good one Don!!
Don, the battle eternal is always between light and darkness and light always triumph
"Lets go see the Moon" says my Granddaughter! Ahhh, I see that we are not alone in this! Ahhhh-Ewwww!
Thanks Pat, Plus Ultra, and Tim.
Pat, let me know if you need any help.
Plus Ultra, I believe that, btu also know the darkness is needed to know the light.
Tim, yes your granddaughter is right. Keep on looking up in life.
Beautiful...!
Somehow Don, I have a feeling that your heart already is intimate with the moon... and her secrets...
I really like this one!
It's so smooth...
Just beautiful Don!
I like this one very much!

I loved these lines Im not sure why
Thanks Nasra. Our hearts wander and we follow them. At times, they lead us to peace and at times they seek and roam, like the buffaloes on the midwestern plains of the United States.
You have certainly excelled yourself with this one.
May you have a wonderful day full of wonder for the wandering mind.
:o) For what is life if not full wonder?
Thanks Trinitystar. And the same to you.
Don
