Disappearing Footprints in the Sand
By Don Iannone
They don't last
...our fragile footprints in the sand.
Even the most elegant impressions succumb
...to the unrelenting waves.
We shouldn't worry
...that we leave nothing behind.
We need no proof
...that we were here.
The only lasting impressions
...are those left in the heart.

I saw your poem on Darius' site. Beautiful poem, and it sums up the way I feel. Thank you for being another candle in the night.

I don't think anyone could have said this better. Bravo!
Thanks Liquidplastic.
Ah, but are they soft and gentle imprints, or spiked heels? Good one Don!
Pat...thanks!
Wu Wei would have said: "Both and neither."
Enjoy your day.
