Awakening
By Don Iannone

Early morning sky.
Filled

...with burning expectation.
Eager
...like a young child
...wanting to please
...but also wanting to be free.
Moving...me
...upward
...like the sun
...into the sky, and beyond.
Sunlight

...shimmering
...on still dark water.

Awakening me
...from the inside out.
Off I soar
...a lone bird
...against the rising sun.

Sunrise is indeed something magical happening every single day that we mostly miss out on.

Don, so glad to find you--thanks to Kathy (collector of quotes). I absolutely revel in this poem you wrote, particularly the line: "awakening me from the inside out." You've got the sun in your heart and soul.

As for, "We are 'here' to help others. We help ourselves by helping others. We teach what we ourselves need to learn in life. Life is really very simple once we learn to get beyond ourselves," That's basically my philosophy in life, too. Funny I should just find you now, considering the post I wrote yesterday. Would you mind wandering over to my blog and following through on what I request at the end?

You're another source of inspiration--so good to meet you!

Thanks Dan, Darius, Darlene, and Kathy for your posts. It's always good to hear from others.

Namaste,

Don

Ill at ease and feeling loss, over the surrendering of a student who goes on to other things, I wondered in to take solace in your work, and find, in your profile quotes the source of the feelings, the teacher teaches the student, what the teacher needs to learn himself, and, Don, that is exactly the source of my selfishness over my student. Then I realize consciously, (and that is enlightenment), just what and how much she taught me.

Now I thank you for the Eye opener, Don, I am a step closer to Myself.

Jim...thank you for being a fine teacher and student and for being willing to know yourself. Don

There must be freedom from the known, to discover the unknown.

Thanks for your comment. That is an advantage that children have; that is they are free of what adults know. I think that is also why artists that get in touch with their inner child can successfully create.
