Serenity
By Don Iannone
soft rays of summer sun
...float like yellow butterflies
......between the tall oaks
.........feeding warm light onto the sleeping calico
............curled up on the front porch swing.

Must be a "catty" kind of day!! Good one Don!!
It must be Pat. I enjoyed your River Cat very much. Thanks.
Its a dream, house with a porch, a swing in the porch, bright with sunlight and then tall oaks...Wow
I really like this poem!
Take care!
Thanks Dumbdodi and Margie. Blessings to you both.
Beatiful poem. I need serenity now. Your poetry soothes the soul.
Its nice to be back..I lost my blog and now I have to rebuild it again...and its been lovely to get a bit of sun heat in the middle of the night from your side
Of course I just have an affection for the title of this one ;) but more than that, in such wonderful use of language you evoke a feeling of that warmth and gentleness we find in such simplicity. Beautiful, as always.
Thanks Stacey, Serenity, and Iamnasra.
Stacey...I wish you peace and thanksgiving. Sorry about your puppy.
Iammasra...I wish you reconnectivity with that pyramid that you are and blessings on your blog.
Serenity...may yellow butterflies keep you company as you dance in the cool green grass of summer.

Kathleen...so funny. I can imagine you as such, but I have no visual image of you. Shall I see you as a calico cat sleeping on the front porch swing?
