Seeing Another in the Mirror
By Don Iannone
When you look
in the cosmic mirror,
what do you see?
Do you see
the astonishingly bright star
that I see
when I look at you?
Do you see
the deep pool
of crystal blue water
bathing the world in love?
Do you see
the elegant beauty of your spirit
and the beauty you bring out
in others around you?
This is what I see
when I look at you.
My deepest wish is that
the mirror reflects the same
next time you venture a glance
into its surface.

Chrystal clarity
Divine essence of the word
Purest vision of thoughts!
Highest state of awareness
Mirrorimage of enlightenment
Great composition
like a string of finest pearls
Reaching the moment
wanting to freeze the moment
How very beautiful Don!
I love this poem!
Don, I can't say it better than Quasar:
"Great composition
like a string of finest pearls
Reaching the moment
wanting to freeze the moment"
What beauty in your words....what inspiring metaphor you use and depth of emotion....I have always called your site an oasis...it is so much more than that.
Blessings!
Don. what an inspiring and lovely poem to look at others differently and alos yourself.
'Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder' its your greatness that you see beauty in all of us.
We are jewels on God's necklace -if only we could recognise this.
don,
"Mirrow",
a magical "voice"
from the "inside".
I enjoy your poem.
Thanks Rob, Quasar9, Starry Nights, Dumbdodi, Serenity, Margie, and Ufukhati. All of your kind words reverbate within me. They inspire me to write. My blessings to each of you.
Don
lovely piece,Don..
thank you..
Beautiful Don!! We do tend to be our own worst critics!!
Wonderful image here: "the deep pool / of crystal blue water / bathing the world in love". This one's nice, and reminds us to really look at ourselves in the mirror, and see the value that lies within our aggregates of body and mind.
Great one Don... you Diamond of reflection you! :)
We wish for many things Don but they always remain a wish. A prayer for peace and love has never been answered. such is the wish bathing the world in love. It remais a wish
Thank you Rauf, Kathleen, Mike, Pat, and Gangadhar. I appreciate each of your wonderful comments. Each is a poem in its own way.
Mike...your comment reminds me of something: "See without looking." May we all "see" without the constraints of trying to look or see. Blessings to you all.
Rauf...thank you. You're one who certainly sees through your mirror. Your photography shows us all what you see. Thank you for that.
Can't add anything to all the other great comments; they've said it all, even though more will be said, I'm sure, to add to it all. Thanks, Don!
Thanks Dan. Nothing need be said. Silence many times says it all.
Very nice Don. Thanks always for the kind words and lovely poems.
Thanks Brenda. Hope your new life is going well. Blessings.
"Do you see
the elegant beauty of your spirit
and the beauty you bring out
in others around you?"
Indeed food for thought. I think I should.
Gautami...thank you so much. And you do just that. Blessings.
thats beautiful
Thank you Kai.
beautiful! ah, the ability to see beauty in everything, including ourselves...
Polona...yes indeed. Thank you.
Imagine, the lovingness of anothers glance reflected in his words. You must feel beautiful spiritually to see it worldly, I think. Thank you for your gifts, Namaste.
hmmm @ Cosmic Mirror .. interesting thought .. what did u have in mind when u said Cosmic Mirror?
Thanks Liquid. Interesting comments. Such beauty lies inside all of us...and we can access it once we strip away the "stuff" separating us from our true nature. Thank you for your gifts. Wonderful photographs you create with you eyes, hands, and mind. Namaste!
Thanks Nabeel. What did I have in mind with respect to the cosmic mirror? Consciousness. It's the unified field of intelligence that all beings in the universe share. It's what we catch a glimpse of when we observe our own mind and its workings. What would you associate with the concept of the cosmic mirror?
