Lessons from a Riverstone
By Don Iannone
Searching the world over
for truth, beauty, love,
and all else that fills the skies
with expectation each night,
Relentlessly seeking,
in every shadow cast by the sun,
for clues, lost pieces, life fragments,
In a simple round riverstone,
i glimpse what i've become,
what my journey has finally made me,
Tumbled, smooth, no longer seeking
or offering resistance to the flow,
Frictionlessly, my heart greets the day.
