Impermanence
By Don Iannone

Quietly daybreak seizes the horizon
with pristine happiness,
crowned by golden splendor,
Gentle clouds avail themselves
to the emerging light,
giving them shape and meaning in the sky,
A single bird perches herself in a distant tree
that is but a silhouette of what I hope to see,
A new day has arrived on the back
of a solitary moment leaving nothing behind,
only a wish to transcend the moment.
