Broken Seashells
By Don Iannone

Even broken seashells deserve our love,
Like children without a home
and old folks without a family,
They long to be lifted, caressed,
and adored like the beautiful whole ones
that everyone wants for their collection,
The broken ones beg for the tender touch
of the graceful older southern lady walking barefoot
in a flowing white cotton dress and bright blue hat
on the early morning beach,
Give your broken seashells a second chance on life,
They promise to love you back
