How We Are

Incomplete,
we seek our missing pieces in others,
Partial,
we search for life's magical gestalt,
Naked,
we cloth ourselves in transient ideas,
Afraid,
we hide behind our anger,
Ashamed,
we turn away from those who love us,
Sorrowful,
we pretend to be happy,
Angry,
we avoid our deepest fears,
Lonely,
we withdraw deeper into ourselves,
Attached,
we hold onto things we don't need,
Poetic,
we try to speak from our heart about what matters.
