Tuesday Thought: Mystery Drives Us

There is a lot of talk about the importance
of creativity in our personal and career
lives. I agree it is very important. All of
us can stand to be more creative in our lives.
In part, that's why I write poetry.

Underlying our creative drive is something
deeper--our quest to explore, understand, and
solve mystery in our lives. This quote calls
our attention to this reality:

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is
the mysterious. It is the source of all true
art and all science. He to whom this emotion
is a stranger, who can no longer pause to
wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as
dead: his eyes are closed."
