Longing for Release
By Don Iannone

my soul longs still
...not from wanting anything
......but release
.........from the remaining duality
............anchoring it to this and that.
no permission required
...or anything else
......simply allowing
.........what rises to fall
...........and what falls to rise
..............without judgment
.................without clinging
.....................and someday without notice.

  5. Thanks Kathleen...yes the longing.

Andrew...thanks. Glad you liked it. Sometimes the visual appearance enhances what you're trying to say.

  7. Dumbdodi...yes indeed. Thank you.

Moksha in the sacred Hindu temple dance Bhakti sees the Self as God, most often a personified monotheistic conception of Vishnu, Shiva or Devi (the Mother Goddess). Right???

  8. The soul misses
    what once saw a release
    from chains unseen
    Longed for freedome
Torn to be in a place
Does not understand the reason of it

Just a thought after reading your poem...can a soul want so much a release ?? I wonder

  9. I am bowled over..don't know what to say.
That was an intersting definition of Bhakti. In simple terms Bhakti=Devotion. It could be to anyone though not just god.
Sacred dance probably is a way to Moksha. Moksha=Ultimate freedom, mukti as you know.I think Moksha is soul leaving the body and amalgamating with god.
This from my limited knowledge about my religion.

  10. And I think it means liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth and all the suffering and limitation entailed in embodied worldly existence. I am studying in a graduate program in consciousness studies that includes several Eastern religion courses. I'm learning.

  11. Lovely Iamnasra. You have a poetic gift with words. But you already know that. I-am-Nasra. Nice.

Yes, even wanting release can be a hinderance. I believe that. Good question. Thanks for reminding me.
