We carry too much luggage with us and that is why we never fly...is money a luggage? Is Fame another one?Is unforgiveness a luggage or a millstone around our necks.....
I'm dropping my luggage. I think you know the one about dropping one's baggage by realizing that there never was any baggage. And then we bend over and pick it back up and carry it for the sake of helping all beings drop theirs. But with a difference, now. Thanks from all of us, Mahasattva Bodhisattva Don!
HiYa Don! :) i was just at Raufs place and he had a beautiful bird taking off in flight... and now i come here and learn how we too can fly and be free!
Hi, I'm here via my blogging friend Floots' site where I've recently read your comments.
I like this view of releasing "our baggage" from beginning to ending imagery. Yes, we all need to soar. I'm pleased to have found another fine philosphical poetry blog.
We've had this discussion before about whether/how our baggage (problems, trials and tribulations, worries, addictions, and afflictions or suffering in any form) plays a role in our spiritual growth. If we accept the "things are the way they are because of our karma", then all that troubles us is an aspect of our spiritual evolution.
I like to think of our "wings" as those parts of ourselves that have been liberated from karmic forces. They lift us out of the mire that keeps us stuck.
